Sonim XP8 - Manage RTT Settings

Here's how to use the real-time text (RTT) feature on your Sonim XP8.
Real-time text (RTT) is text transmitted instantly as it is typed or created. Recipients can immediately read the message while it is being written without waiting or the need for an additional device.

  1. From a Home screen on your Sonim XP8® , tap the
    Phone icon
     Phone icon (lower-left).
  2. Navigate:
    Menu icon Menu icon
    Settings
    Accessibility
    .
  3. Tap the
    Real Time Text (RTT) call switch
     to turn on On switch icon.
    You won't be able to make video calls or merge calls while RTT is on.
    When RTT is enabled on both devices no audio is heard on the call. If you aren't hearing audio make sure RTT is turned off.
  1. From a Home screen, tap the
    Phone icon
     Phone icon.
  2. Tap
    Dial
     (lower-left).
  3. Enter the desired mobile number then press the
    Call icon
     Call icon.
  4. Once the call connects and tap
    RTT
    .
  5. The RTT keyboard displays, start typing your message.
  1. While on a call, tap the
    End icon
     (at the bottom) to end the call.
