Here's how to activate your BYOD device on an existing line of service via eSIM using the My Verizon app.
Ensure your My Verizon app is up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version.
Activate BYOD on eSIM
- From the device you want to activate, open theMy Verizon appthen sign in.
- To continue, read the Terms and Conditions then tapAccept terms.
- Confirm the model of your device then tapContinue.
- SelectActivate on an existing linethen tapContinue.
- TapSelectnext to the eligible line you want to transfer.
- Select a number to receive the one-time authorization (OTA) code then tapSend Code.
- Enter the OTA code received by text then tapContinue.
- Review the order then tapConfirm and activate.
- Follow the prompts on your screen to activate your new esIM.
- If using an Android™ or Pixel device, once the eSIM download and install completes, tapAddto turn on the eSIM.
Change or Replace a Device using eSIM
- From the device you want to activate, open theMy Verizon app, tap theAccount tabthen sign in.
- From the Devices section tapAll devices, tap the appropriate mobile number then tapManage device.
- From the Tools & Applications section, tapChange or replace device on this line.
- Review the 'On device activation' info then tapContinue.
- Select the device you want to activate then tapContinue.
- TapUse my device's eSIMthen tapContinue.
- Select a number to receive the one-time authorization (OTA) code then tapSend Code.
- Enter the OTA code received by text then tapContinue.
- From the 'Protect your device ...' screen, select an option (Add or No thanks).
- Review the order then tapConfirm and activate.
- Follow the prompts on your screen to activate your new esIM.
- If using an Android™ or Pixel device, once the eSIM download and install completes, tapAddto turn on the eSIM.
Download New eSIM Profile on Existing Device
- From the device you want to activate, open theMy Verizon app, tap theAccount tabthen sign in.
- From the Devices section tapAll devices, tap the appropriate mobile number then tapManage device.
- From the Tools & Applications section, tapActivate or get SIM.
- Review the 'On device activation' info then tapContinue.
- From the 'Are you physically logged into this device right now?' screen, tap Yes or No.If you're using an Android™ device and select 'No', you must open the My Verizon app on the device you want to activate and sign into your account. Refer to the BYOD section of this article for more info.
- Select a number to receive the one-time authorization (OTA) code then tapSend Code.
- Enter the OTA code received by text then tapContinue.
- From the 'Protect your device ...' screen, select an option (Add or No thanks).
- Review the order then tapConfirm and activate.
- Follow the prompts on your screen to activate your new esIM.
- If using an Android or Pixel device, once the eSIM download and install completes, tapAddto turn on the eSIM.
