Verizon Family - Set Up Safe Walk (Child)

Here's how to set up Safe Walk using the Verizon Family Guardian and Companion apps.
  • To perform the steps below, ensure the Verizon Family apps are installed.
  • Two actions are needed to set up Safe Walk for your Dependent:
    • Assign emergency contacts via the Guardian app
    • Set a Safe Walk SOS PIN via the Companion app
  • During Safe Walk setup, you’ll have the opportunity to practice sending an SOS during a Safe Walk session. In Practice mode, emergency contacts are not alerted.
  • Safe Walk SOS does not call 911.

  1. From the Verizon Family app, tap the
    Profiles tab
    .
  2. Select the
    Family member
    you wish to view.
  3. Navigate:
    Manage contacts
    Emergency contacts
    Add contact
    .
  4. Select the contact(s) to add.
    The Primary Parent is an emergency contact by default.
  5. Tap
    Save
    .
  1. From the Home Screen Map in the Verizon Family Companion app, tap the
    + icon
    .
  2. Tap
    Safe Walk
    then agree to the permissions.
  3. Review emergency contact(s).
  4. Select a PIN that will be used during Safe Walk to do any of the following:
    • cancel sending an SOS
    • confirm yourself as safe
