General information

  • What is Fios Prepaid?

  • Fios Prepaid is a new way to get Fios, without a credit check, deposit or term contract. It gives you the flexibility to pay as you go and to enjoy Verizon’s award-winning Fios service. The initial equipment needed is included in the price! Services are prepaid in advance, so you won’t get a bill with surprise charges.

    Managing your Fios Prepaid account is convenient, and you can do it anytime online or from your smartphone. Go to My Verizon to manage your account online from your computer. You can also download the My Fios app to manage your account from your smartphone.

  • What do I need to provide to get Fios Prepaid?

  • Your name, service address, email address and contact telephone number.....that is it!

  • Why can’t I get Fios TV only?

  • Fios internet is a required part of our prepaid services.

  • Is my equipment included with no additional monthly charge?

  • Yes. Fios Prepaid internet includes a certified Fios advanced router, and Fios Prepaid TV includes 1 Set-Top Box. You can add options, such as DVR, multi-room DVR, and additional Set-Top Boxes up to a maximum of 4 per address. Monthly charges apply for optional services or equipment.

  • How do I pay for my services?

  • You pay your charges in full in advance of activating services. We will provide an account statement available at your convenience online. You can view statements and make payments on My Verizon. We will send reminders to you about a week before the end of the month – before your service expires. You can renew your service at any time by making a payment prior to your expiration date. (Please allow 5 business days prior to expiration for your payment to post).

  • Will I get reminders before my service is turned off?

  • Yes. We will send you reminders 10 days, 5 days, 1 day before and on the day that your service will be deactivated. If you choose to not renew with payment for the next month before your expiration date, services will be deactivated.

  • What happens if I don’t renew my Fios Prepaid Plan by the service expiration date?

  • Your services will be deactivated. You can pay the Fios Prepaid Plan renewal amount and your service will automatically re-activate for another full month. If you haven’t renewed service for three consecutive months, your account will be closed and services will be disconnected.

  • How do I cancel my Fios Prepaid service?

  • You may call to discontinue services and your account will be closed at your request. Or, if you don’t pay your renewal plan amount for three consecutive months, then your account will be closed and services will be disconnected. In both cases we will request you to send all equipment back to Verizon with the labels provided.

  • Can I change my existing Fios services from a traditional monthly billed account to a Fios Prepaid account?

  • No. The services included and plans are different. Currently you cannot change from traditional monthly billing to Fios Prepaid service.

Prepaid monthly plans

  • What Fios services are available?

  • Fios Prepaid plans include your choice of Fios Internet 25/25mbps (required for all Fios Prepaid customers), home phone, and Fios Custom TV, Custom TV – Sports and More, or Mundo (Spanish and English programming). Additional monthly services are offered as optional choices for your convenience.

  • Can I add premium channels like HBO or international TV packages?

  • Yes. We can add it to your initial order or to your account at a later date. You will have to prepay the monthly rate in advance to enjoy those channels.

  • Will I have access to Video On Demand titles?

  • Yes. You will access to any of our free Video On Demand programming on Fios, whether that is one of our free movies, or free network shows. Fios Prepaid customers will not have access to any paid Video On Demand movies or any Pay Per View.

Making payments

  • What payment methods are accepted?

  • Most major credit and debit cards, Visa or Mastercard prepaid cards, and cash are accepted. No checks or ACH transfers are permitted.

  • Can I sign up for automatic payments?

  • Yes. You can enroll in AutoPay as long as you have a valid credit or debit card on file.

  • Can I pay online?

  • Yes. You can pay with a debit or credit card online via My Verizon.

  • Can I pay in person?

  • Yes. You can go to one of our Fios Prepaid payment centers and pay in person.

  • Can I pay via online banking bill pay with a checking account?

  • No. Fios Prepaid accounts do not accept checks, ACH transfers, or online bill pay via your bank.

  • How do I pay by credit or debit card?

  • Just go to My Verizon and register your account online. You can also download the My Fios app in Google Play and the app store and pay via the app.

  • Can I get a refund if I cancel before my month expires?

  • If you decide to cancel services after they are activated, you will not be eligible for a refund. If you cancel your order before any services are activated, then yes. Credit or debit card payments will be returned to those accounts. Cash refunds will be sent to the service address by bank check.

  • Will I get credit for service problems or outages?

  • Yes. For a service outage/out of service, your account will receive credit on your next month’s prepaid payment.

Managing your prepaid account

  • Does my Fios Prepaid account automatically renew?

  • You are in control. Enrolling in Autopay is a convenient way to be sure your service is automatically renewed each month. If you are not enrolled in Autopay, you must renew your service each month by simply making payment for the amount due to renew. Your account will deactivate if you don’t renew your Fios Prepaid account before the expiration date. After three months of inactivity your account is closed.

  • Can I manage my account online?

You can also download the My Fios App to manage your account from your compatible smartphone. Go to My Fios app and download the app.

  • Can I review my services and payments?

  • Yes. You won’t get a paper bill. Managing your Fios Prepaid account is convenient, and you can do it anytime online or from your smartphone. Go to My Verizon to manage your account online from your computer. You can also download the My Fios app to manage your account from your compatible smartphone. Go to My Fios app and download the app.

  • Can I add and remove services?

  • Yes. You can add services by calling 1.800.VERIZON (1.800.837.9466). It will require payment in advance before services will be activated. If you wish to remove services our service team can also assist you with making that change.

  • How do I connect and set up my internet and TV services?

  • Self-install is a great way to set up service quickly and at your convenience. Equipment is shipped directly to you with instructions for setting up service. If you prefer, we’ll schedule an appointment for a skilled Verizon technician to completely set up services at your home.

  • How do I activate my account?

  • When your equipment is installed and service is working, your account is activated. This begins your month of service for the Fios Prepaid plan you selected. Services are available to you for one month. To keep services activated and avoid interruption of service, simply make a payment in the amount due to renew before the expiration date of your current month. Reminders will be sent in advance of your expiration date.

  • How much does my plan rate cost?

  • Plan rates are dependent on the services you select. Details are available either online at verizon.com or through one of our Verizon sales consultants by calling 1.800.VERIZON (1.800.837.9466).

  • Do I own the equipment?

  • No. You may use the equipment while services are activated and you are required to return it when service is disconnected. Equipment return is fast and easy.

  • How do I renew my service?

  • Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

  • There is no long-term contract with Fios Prepaid. You renew your service each month by making a payment before the expiration date.

  • Do I need to have a credit card?

  • No. Your payment options also include Debit card, prepaid Visa or Mastercard, or cash.

  • Is a credit check required?

  • No. A credit check is not required for Fios Prepaid service.

  • Can I use my existing Set-Top Box?

  • Fios Prepaid works with specific equipment, so it depends on what type of set top box you have. Your sales assistant will be glad to explain in more detail based on your plan and your equipment.

  • What do I do if my service isn’t working?

  • First check to be sure that you have renewed service with payment for the current month. You can check your account status online at My Verizon. If you prepaid for the current time period and your service is not working, please contact our repair team at 1.800.VERIZON (1.800.837.9466).

  • Are there any requirements to get the service?

  • Yes. You can either check online or call to verify Fios service eligibility at your home address. Once your service is installed and working, you are required to make a payment before the expiration date in order to renew services uninterrupted for the next month.

  • What if I’m already a Verizon customer?

  • If you are currently a Verizon customer, one of our Verizon sales consultants will gladly assist in reviewing your account and determining the best plan for you. You may reach us on 1-800-VERIZON.

  • Can I tie this to my wireless account?

  • Fios Prepaid is not associated with your wireless account.

  • What services are included with the Fios Prepaid plan?

  • Monthly plans include Fios Internet, home phone, and your choice of Custom TV Essentials, Custom TV Sports and More, or Mundo. A Fios Advanced Router is included with Internet service and one set top box is included with the TV service. Optional services and equipment such as additional set top boxes, international or premium programming, or DVR may be added to your monthly plan. All monthly charges, including taxes and fees, must be paid in advance for services to remain active.

  • Is the Inside Wire Maintenance Plan included?

  • Inside Wire Maintenance is a great addition to your Fios Prepaid plan. It isn’t included in the basic plan, but may be added as an option. It’s designed to avoid unexpected charges for repairs inside your home.

    Inside Wire Maintenance is a simple way to address problems with the inside wiring and jacks for your Fios services. This is an optional monthly service that provides reliable protection for a small monthly charge per residential line. This plan covers diagnosis and repair of the inside telephone wiring and jacks that provide dial tone service. For Fios customers, this plan extends to cover the inside wiring and jacks used to deliver all your Fios services.

    You will not pay any labor or material charges in these situations:

    • You need a technician to make repairs covered by the plan
    • For a diagnostic visit if the trouble is within your telephone set or equipment
