NEW YORK – Melissa Garlick, an accomplished professional with more than two decades of integrated marketing, brand advocacy and communications strategy experience, has been named to lead Verizon’s new Brand Creative organization.

Most recently head of advertising and communications at Fiat Chrysler, Garlick reports to Diego Scotti, Verizon’s chief marketing officer, effective May 11.

Scotti said, “Melissa is an award-winning, innovative advertising and marketing leader, and I’m excited to have her and her team tell the Verizon story of how our brand delivers reliable experiences -- simply and focused on what customers want -- across the digital world.”

In this new role, Garlick will lead the strategy and creative development for all marketing and communications across Verizon’s products and services and for all customer touch points, including advertising, branding, digital content and store design.

Her team is responsible for delivering world-class creative and marketing communications in partnership with Verizon’s agencies, to drive consistent brand identity and messaging, consumer engagement and business growth.

At Fiat Chrysler, Garlick led the award-winning “Imported from Detroit” brand campaign. She had formerly held marketing leadership positions of increasing responsibility for both the Chrysler and Dodge brands.
