NEW YORK - Verizon's FiOS TV customers can now enjoy even more high-definition (HD) programming, as the company delivers more than 1,000 HD video-on-demand (VOD) titles per month - ahead of schedule.  Originally promised for the end of the year, Verizon has expanded its HD VOD library with more great titles, including HD content from several movie channels: Starz, Showtime and Sundance Channel.

"FiOS TV offers a home-entertainment experience that cable can't match, and now it's even better," said Terry Denson, vice president - FiOS TV content and programming.  "Consumers continue to get the ultimate HD experience from Verizon, with more HD choices than cable from our growing list of HD channels and our industry-leading VOD library.  And the best part of all - with FiOS TV's video-on-demand library, you can watch what you want, when you want."

FiOS TV customers across the country now have access to an incredible HD selection of VOD titles.  New offerings include movie titles from Starz and Sundance Channel as well as movies and several original series from Showtime, including "Brotherhood," "Dexter" and "Weeds."

Verizon's FiOS TV VOD library offers titles that encompass a broad range of interests, including kids, music, pop culture, Spanish language, and home and leisure.  The library offers more than 11,000 titles per month - 8,500 are free of charge.  Customers can access video on demand simply by pressing the "VOD" or "On Demand" button on their remote control, by using the menu on FiOS TV's interactive media guide, or by selecting the VOD channel.

Verizon, the nation's fastest-growing television service provider, delivers FiOS TV over the country's most advanced fiber-optic network straight to customers' homes and businesses.  The service provides a broad collection of all-digital programming with more than 400 total channels, as well as stunning picture-and-sound quality, a growing number of HD channels, a broad spectrum of content diversity, and exciting interactive features that set it apart from cable offerings.

Verizon's FiOS TV service was selected as the top-ranked residential television service provider in the Northeast region by J.D. Power for 2008.  FiOS TV is currently available to more than 8.2 million homes in 14 states: California, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Consumers who sign up for FiOS TV between now and Dec. 31 are eligible to enjoy free access for 90 days to three premium entertainment packages - Cinemax, HBO and FiOS TV's Movie Package, which includes Showtime, Starz, The Movie Channel, Encore, Sundance Channel and IFC.  This package features 40 high-definition (HD) premium channels as well as more than 9,000 free video-on-demand (VOD) titles per month.
