“I can’t believe we’re in New York City,” gazed DeAnne Buhl.

The black SUV carried two women in the back seat as it inched towards the Grand Central Parkway to leave LaGuardia Airport.

“And we haven’t even left the parking lot yet!” quipped her sister, Barbara Dunn.

The two women laughed loudly and patted each other on the back.

Buhl, from Boaz, Ala., was a lucky recipient to score a Dream Ticket through Verizon Up: she and a guest – her sister, Dunn, from Dalton, Ga. – were given roundtrip airfare, hotel, and a VIP experience to iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, which featured performers such as Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, and Camila Cabello.

For Buhl and Dunn, visiting New York City was a lifelong dream. Longtime travel companions, the two had never visited before.

But that changed because of Verizon Up.

Buhl said she frequently uses the My Verizon app and monitors different rewards through Verizon Up.

“I was looking for events that were close to my house, but I saw the opportunity to attend Jingle Ball in New York with airfare and hotel included and I thought that this was too good to be true,” Buhl said. “I put in a bid and I was selected, and I didn’t believe it. I even called to make sure that this was real. Once it was verified, we jumped in head first.”

The seats we had were fantastic. We were so close that we could see the artists’ faces…

Their New York experience started with a chauffeured pickup at the airport to their hotel near Times Square, continued with a self-guided walk to view the lights in Times Square.

As for Jingle Ball?

“It was amazing,” Buhl said. “The seats we had were fantastic. We were so close that we could see the artists’ faces, and it was really interesting to see how much they enjoyed the applause from the audience.”

The Dream Ticket recipients and their guests all received front-center section floor seats, a VIP backstage tour with an artist meet-and-greet with The Chainsmokers, a Jingle Ball swag bag, and access to the Verizon Up club lounge.

Between seeing the lights of Times Square during the holidays and hearing the biggest stars in music at Jingle Ball, Buhl left New York very happy.

“I’m still in awe of this entire experience. It was truly unforgettable.”
