NEW YORK – Verizon and Veterans Advantage today announced a partnership to offer annual savings of up to $120 on Verizon Fios Bundles for U.S. active duty military, veterans, National Guard and Reserve, and their families. This savings program is newly created for Veterans Advantage members with a VetRewards Card, providing these special military savings when enrolling in Verizon Fios Bundles for TV, Internet and home phone services.

Veterans Advantage members are eligible for exclusive savings of $10 a month ($120 a year) for triple-play bundles (TV, Internet and phone) and $5 a month ($60 a year) for double-play bundles (TV, Internet or phone). In addition, these savings can be combined with current special promotions from Verizon Fios.

Veterans and their families who are enrolled in Veterans Advantage and reside in the 9 states and the District of Columbia serviced by Verizon Fios can access their new savings online through a private Fios enrollment portal at www.vetrewards.com/verizonfios.

States and cities within our Fios coverage map include Connecticut, Delaware, the Delmarva Peninsula, Salisbury and the Baltimore area of Maryland, the Greater Boston region of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia. In the tri-state area, Fios can be found in New Jersey, Philadelphia, Harrisuburg and Pittsburgh, Pennyslvania, as well as New York City, Staten Island, Long Island, Syracuse, Albany and Buffalo, New York.

Veterans Advantage members who reside outside of Fios-served areas will be offered the military savings on bundles that include Verizon High-Speed Internet (HSI), TV and phone.

“Verizon is proud to thank those who have served and continue to serve our country by offering special discounts on Verizon Fios for Veterans Advantage members and their families,” said Michael Weston, executive director, Verizon Enhanced Communities, Verizon. “As an employer of more than 11,000 military veterans and service members, we know how important it is to honor those who serve and their family members. We are pleased to create this new benefit to reward them with Verizon Fios savings.”

In addition to Verizon Fios bundles with new military savings, Verizon currently offers Veterans Advantage members 15 percent off wireless plans for new and existing customers, and 25 percent off in-store accessories, redeemed with the VetRewards Card at Verizon Stores nationwide.

“Verizon has consistently been a major supporter of Veterans Advantage, with our VetRewards Card as its exclusive nongovernment military ID accepted at stores nationwide for Verizon military discounts on monthly voice, data and in-store accessories, and we are delighted to deepen our offerings with Verizon Fios to thank those who have served our country,” said Scott Higgins, co-founder and CEO of Veterans Advantage and a Vietnam War veteran.

“We are dedicated to giving back not only to those who serve our country, but also to their families for their special sacrifices. Expanding our partnership with Verizon to include Verizon Fios enhances our mission of greater respect, recognition and rewards for those who serve, as well as their families,” Higgins said.

Veterans Advantage issues the VetRewards Card, the first national military ID designed to protect veterans’ privacy when used to verify eligibility for military savings offers for redemption online, by phone or at point of sale in store locations.

Recent studies by the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Federal Trade Commission show that veterans and military have twice the reported rate of ID theft than the general population due to mishandling of their government-issued military IDs in their civilian lives.  As a result, Veterans Advantage has encouraged its partner companies to help safeguard military and veterans’ personal information by creating partner benefits that accept the VetRewards Card for military identification.

In addition to Verizon, major travel and retailer partners that accept the VetRewards Card and use the Veterans Advantage proprietary verify platform are, United, Jet Blue, Lufthansa, Amtrak, Greyhound, Avis/Budget, CVS/pharmacy, Foot Locker, Dell, Apple and 1800 Flowers, among other industry leaders.
