Hands On: Verizon Droid 4

Brad Sams of Neowin.net takes a look at the new Droid 4, just freshly announced at CES.

Verizon announced yesterday the Droid 4 and Neowin has gotten its dirty paws all over the device at CES 2012. We came away with several initial high notes about the device but you do make some sacrifices such as size when you add a keyboard.

As you would expect, the device follows down the same path as the previous Droid 1, 2, and 3. These popular devices bring a keyboard to the Android experience and have generally been well regarded among their users.

So what does the Droid 4 bring? Well it currently runs Android 2.3.4 but will be upgraded to ICS, 4.0-inch qHD display with scratch and scrape resistant glass, 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot supporting up to eight Wi-Fi-enabled devices, water-repellent nano-coating for splash resistance, 16 GB on-board memory (actual formatted capacity is less) and support for up to 32 GB microSD card. This device is not currently on sale but will be released in the coming weeks.
