Keeping your home safe and sound has taken on new meaning thanks to smart accessories and smartphones.

Verizon Wireless’ Mike Anderson joined KARE11 (NBC affiliate) 4 p.m. news anchor Scott Seroka for a live demonstration of three smart accessories that are transforming home security and home appliances.

Turning the KARE11 studio into Mike’s living room, he was able to show how easy it can be to adjust the home thermostat with the Nest Thermostat, control home electronic devices through the WeMo Switch and monitor activity in and outside your home with the Belkin NetCam HD.

You can watch Mike’s smart accessories demonstration on KARE11's website.
