For this installment of our Meet the Blogger series, we talked with Lisa Collins from Mom on the Side and Midwest Mammas. We wanted the inside scoop on how this busy mom of four uses tech to stay on top of everything.

Please provide a brief description of who you are and what you do.

I am a wife and the mom of twin toddlers, a little man and a teen who is trying to find herself. I share parenting adventures, entertainment loves, tech needs, easy eats and fun travels to inspire people to make the most of life.

Why did you create your blog?

I created Mom On The Side to help others find fun ways to enjoy life and be entertained, as well as share my experiences in parenting and life. Midwest Mammas was created after friends were constantly asking about my couponing. It has since become a place to find local events for families, ladies night out and date night.

What’s your favorite thing about being a blogger?

I love engaging and interacting with people – both online and in real life. The more experiences and the more people I can meet in life, the more I will learn and grow as a person. I have had some amazing experiences and have had the pleasure of meeting some inspiring people, thanks to my blog. I will cherish those forever.

Explain how you use technology in your everyday life.

I use a lot of technology throughout the day. My smartphone captures daily moments and memories, keeps me in contact with my family and gives me instant access to social media. My laptop is the heart of my blog and where all the magic happens. Apple TV, Chromecast and Amazon Fire keep the entire family entertained. My Jawbone UP keeps my get-fit journey in check.

Our VTech Connect to Cell Cordless Phone give us home phone and cell phone options for calls. We have MyQ Garage to alert us if the garage door is left open, among other things. The Leeo Night Light alerts us via smartphone if our smoke detectors or carbon monoxide detectors go off. Finally, our latest addition, the Arlo Smart Home Wireless Security Camera System, will be our added peace of mind.

What is your “can’t live without” app?

Hands down, the app I can’t live without is Instagram… although I have been playing around with the Intel Pocket Avatars app this week and have already become slightly addicted.

If you could interview one person for your blog, who would it be and why?

In the past year, I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing Chris Pratt, Vince Vaughn, John Hamm, Tom Hiddleston, Fergie and others, but John Wayne is one I would have loved the chance to interview. I’m an Iowa girl who grew up watching John Wayne movies with her dad. I would love to hear what he thinks of life and entertainment now. I could also sit and listen to his voice for hours.
