Alexander H. Good to Leave Bell Atlantic
Joins @link Networks as Chairman and CEO

NEW YORK -- Alexander H. Good, executive vice president - Strategy,
Corporate Development & Performance Assurance, will leave Bell
Atlantic Sept. 10 to become chairman and CEO of @link Networks, Inc., a
Midwest-based provider of high-speed broadband access technologies.
"Alex is a demonstrated leader who has taken the strategy and
development function to a new level in our company," said Ivan
Seidenberg, Bell Atlantic chairman and CEO. "He has broadened our
vision by relentlessly focusing on growth initiatives -- not only with our
industry-changing mergers, but also in the critical areas of broadband
connectivity and data strategy. While I am sorry to lose him, I know he
will be successful in running his new company. He leaves with our
heartfelt thanks and our best wishes."
Good joined Bell Atlantic in 1994 and has served on the company's
Executive Committee since 1997.
Phil Seskin, vice president - Corporate Development, will assume Good's
responsibilities on an acting basis, reporting to Fred Salerno, senior
executive vice president and CFO.
Prior to his current position, Good served as president and CEO of Bell
Atlantic International, where he was responsible for developing and
managing the corporation's international investments, partnerships and
joint ventures.
Before joining Bell Atlantic, Good was senior vice president of Mobile
Telecommunications Technologies Corporation (MTEL) [now SkyTel]
and president of MTEL International. Earlier in his career, Good was
appointed by President Reagan to several key positions in the U.S.
Government, including the post of assistant secretary of the Department of
Commerce.
