Bell Atlantic Delivers More Than $136,000
to United Way Agencies in West Virginia
Kanawha Valley Gets One-Third

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Twenty United Way agencies across West
Virginia are receiving checks this month totaling over $136,000 from the
Bell Atlantic Foundation.
"Bell Atlantic is doing what any good citizen would do. We're investing in
our neighborhoods, the communities where our employees live and work,"
said Dennis Bone president and CEO of Bell Atlantic - West Virginia.
Bell Atlantic's largest United Way donation, $45,500, goes to the United
Way of the Kanawha Valley, which serves agencies in Kanawha and
Putnam counties.
Other major recipients of Bell Atlantic's United Way gifts include:
- The United Way of the River Cities (Cabell, Wayne, Mason and
Lincoln counties) -- $19,000. - Mid-Ohio Valley United Fund, Inc. (Wood, Wirt, Ritchie,
Pleasants, Jackson, Roane, Calhoune and Tyler counties) --
$11,000. - Upper Ohio Valley United Way (Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel and
Tyler counties) -- $11,000.
