FALLS CHURCH, Va. -- Bell Atlantic's 1998-1999 Yellow and White
Pages for the Atlantic City - Pleasantville area contain new and innovative
Internet-related features, including a beginner's guide to the Internet.
More than 150,000 copies of the new directory will be delivered to area
businesses and residences during the next several weeks.

Bell Atlantic's Internet Guide provides an overview of the Internet in easy-
to-understand language for the novice user. The Internet Guide --
supported by advertising in an 10-page tabbed insert -- contains information
on hardware and software requirements, a glossary, a step-by-step
approach for connecting to the World Wide Web, tips on choosing an
Internet service provider and a list of recommended Web sites. The guide
complements Bell Atlantic's BigYellowSM, the nation's leading online
shopping directory.

"The Bell Atlantic directory for the Atlantic City -- Pleasantville area
provide our customers and advertisers with local information and services
that allow for global access, such as the Internet," said Mary Jo Howe, vice
president of marketing and customer relations for Bell Atlantic Directory
Services.

For the first time in the Atlantic City region, Yellow Pages listings also
feature an optional extra line for e-mail and Web site addresses in response
to growing use of the Internet. Industry analysts report that 50 percent of U.S. companies have Web sites.

The cover of the new directory features an illustration of the Atlantic City
Art Center and the Atlantic City Historical Museum, both located on the
city's historic Garden Pier. The Atlantic City Art Center, which opened in
1953, has three galleries of art exhibits that feature paintings, sculptures,
and photographs. The Atlantic City Historical Museum, located on the
pier since 1985, offers an award-winning exhibition of historical
documents, artifacts and memorabilia that commemorates the cultural
diversity of Atlantic City. The Atlantic City Arts Center and the Atlantic
City Historical Museum are dedicated to honoring the city's heritage and
culture.

"Like the Yellow Pages, the Atlantic City Art Center and Atlantic City
Historical Museum serve as cultural and educational resources for the
community and its visitors," said Walter Collette, chairman of the board of
directors for the Atlantic City Art Center. "The art center and the museum
are proud to be featured on the cover of the Atlantic County telephone
directory."

The directory cover illustrator is artist Mary Lynn Blasutta, based in New
Paltz, N.Y. Her illustrations are featured on Bell Atlantic's 500 directories
in 13 states and Washington, D.C.
