Bell Atlantic Nynex Mobile Expands Deployment Of Intellivoice Voice
Activated Dialing System TalkDial(SM) Service Now Available in Washington
D.C. and Baltimore Markets
ATLANTA, GA -- Intellivoice Communications, Inc. is pleased to
announce that Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile has deployed its EasyDial(TM)
Voice Activated Dialing software and equipment to serve customers in the
Washington D.C. and Baltimore markets.
With this announcement, Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile has completed the
second phase of a planned network-wide roll-out of the new service, which
features a new user friendly and highly accurate speech recognition interface
for voice activated dialing.
The Intellivoice EasyDial software enables Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile
TalkDial(SM) customers to place a call from any type of cellular phone
simply by speaking the number to be dialed or by speaking a name from their
personal directory. The Intellivoice EasyDial system also features a unique
self-learning speech recognition error detection and correction technique
(patent pending) that improves the performance and accuracy of the EasyDial
application for individual subscribers by tracking and adapting to their
dialing patterns and voice characteristics over time.

of being able to dial a phone number simply by speaking," says Gary

region. "Now customers can easily and conveniently conduct their business
and personal matters without having to manually dial each phone number
into the keypad."
TalkDial service is currently available in Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile's
northern New England, upstate New York, and Washington/ Baltimore markets.
The service is scheduled to be generally available to all Bell Atlantic
NYNEX Mobile subscribers by mid-year.
