Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile Introduces Caller ID and Message Waiting Indicator

February 11, 1997

Media contacts:

WALLINGFORD, Conn. -- Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile today
announced the
availability of two new services that allow wireless customers in
Connecticut and western Massachusetts to see who's calling or when a
message has been left.

The two enhanced services now available to customers are Caller ID,
which displays incoming phone numbers, and Message Waiting Indicator,
which notifies customers of voice mail messages. These services are
part of Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile's strategy to offer the "next
generation" of enhanced services to present and potential customers.

"As a leader in the wireless industry, we want to offer our
customers
the most advanced service capabilities as soon as they become
available," said Chuck Murphy, director of marketing, Bell Atlantic
NYNEX Mobile. "Caller ID and Message Waiting Indicator services are
the first of many technological advancements we'll be introducing this
year."

Caller ID capabilities allow Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile customers to
view the phone number of the person trying to reach them before
answering the call. This incoming phone number display feature means
that customers no longer have to guess who is calling, and have the
option of letting calls go directly to voice mail. The monthly
service charge for this feature is $2.99.

The Message Waiting Indicator feature notifies customers when there
are messages in their cellular voice mailbox. Depending on the type
of phone; customers may be notified of messages by an icon on the
display panel or a beep when the phone is turned on. There is no
monthly charge for this feature, however customers must use wireless
voice mail service for this feature to work.

Customers can receive Caller ID and Message Waiting Indicator service
in specially equipped handsets (e.g., Audiovox 465, which is available
at a special price of $39.99) at any Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile's
Communications stores. For more information, customers can contact
Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile toll-free at 1-800-255-BELL
or visit one of
the 29 stores in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
