Beginning today, New York and New Jersey area consumers will get what
they want, exclusively from Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile. In a bold step
beyond traditional cellular service, Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile is the
first company to introduce a new class of wireless communications
services known as "EZ MAX," a complete wireless package of a
airtime and enhanced features, all in one box.
EZ MAX's enhanced features include the latest voice-activated dialing
technology, built-in electronic fraud protection and a long-life
battery. The EZ MAX phone, made in the USA by Ericsson for Bell
Atlantic NYNEX Mobile, is small--only 5 inches tall, and lightweight.
The micro-portable phone sells for $149.99. The service costs just
$18.99 per month, with 15 minutes of local talk time included.
Customers pay a 69 cents per minute airtime rate within the Bell
Atlantic NYNEX MobileReach® network from Maine to northern Virginia,
and in the Carolinas.
"Consumers have told us they want a simple purchase process and a
of features, and EZ MAX is just that," said Rick Conrad, president
Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile's New York/New Jersey metro region. "You
take EZ MAX off the shelf at one of our 30 Communications Stores, pay
for it, we turn it on, and you're set. You can even have it delivered
to your doorstep."
There's no annual contract to sign, no activation fee to pay, no
charge for detailed billing, no geographic restrictions and the first
local incoming minute of all calls is free in the NY/NJ area. "We
call it EZ MAX because it is easy to get and provides maximum value
for customers," said Conrad.
By easily connecting the phone to a laptop and modem, customers can
send and receive faxes and e-mail, and surf the Internet.
