NEW YORK -- Ameriphone, Inc., of Garden Grove, Calif., has won the
Bell Atlantic Supplier Excellence Award for outstanding customer service.
Ameriphone, a developer and manufacturer of specialized
telecommunications equipment for people with disabilities, provides
telephone amplifiers, signalers and other equipment to Bell Atlantic
customers.

George Cheung, Ameriphone president will accept the award during a
ceremony at 1:30 on July 9 at Ameriphone's headquarters. The
presentation will be made by the Bell Atlantic employees who nominated
Ameriphone for the award -- Sourcing Process Leader Halina Malinowski,
and Manager of the Center for Customers with Disabilities Marilyn
Benoit.

"Our suppliers play a vital role in Bell Atlantic's mission to care for
our customers, anticipate their needs and provide them with outstanding
service," said Bell Atlantic Vice President Consumer Sales and
Service Ellen Corcoran. "Ameriphone has continually improved its
products to meet changing customer needs and the Supplier Excellence
Awards program enables us to recognize such companies for their hard
work and dedication to excellence."

Ameriphone provides its specialized equipment to Bell Atlantic residential
customers who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, motion impaired, or have
cognitive or speech disabilities through statewide programs in
Massachusetts and New York. The company also provides Bell Atlantic
customers with instructions for the equipment in alternate formats, such as
Braille or audiotape, at no extra charge.

"We have always valued our relationship with Bell Atlantic and the
public we serve together, so this recognition is greatly appreciated,"
said Cheung. "As a small, minority-owned business, and the only
West Coast company to win the award this year, we are especially
grateful. This award will add to our drive to provide superior
communication products and services for people with special
needs."

Ameriphone, Inc., is one of only nine suppliers, out of 6,500 suppliers, to
earn the Bell Atlantic Supplier Excellence Award. The suppliers were
judged on key performance attributes, including quality, responsiveness,
delivery and customer satisfaction, for the products and services they
provided to Bell Atlantic.

The annual Supplier Excellence Awards program enables Bell Atlantic to
thank the winners publicly for their hard work and dedication to
excellence, which help Bell Atlantic maintain its position as a market
leader. In addition, the award encourages other suppliers to raise their
level of performance.
