GTE's SuperPages interactive directory service receives top awards from two leading national monthly publications.

DALLAS - GTE's SuperPages interactive directory service has received top awards from two national monthly

publications, NetGuide magazine and Sales and

Marketing Management magazine.

NetGuide magazine awarded GTE's SuperPages its Gold Award for overall

excellence in a Web site, giving it a 4-star rating.

"GTE's SuperPages improves your searches for businesses both on and off

the Web with a directory that's easier and quicker to use. A directory this

complete earns the right to call itself 'super'," NetGuide said in a review

that accompanied the announcement.

The Web site awards were based on ease-of-use, content, design,

personality, navigation and overall look and feel, all categories in which

SuperPages scored high.

NetGuide magazine screened more than 100,000 URLs and reviewed more than

50,000 sites in their search for excellence on the Internet. Only the best

sites on the Web have won the Gold Award and earned the right to display the

NetGuide magazine Gold Award graphic on their Web site.

SuperPages also was awarded a coveted slot in the Top100 Best Business

Related Sites on the World Wide Web list from Sale and Marketing Management

magazine. SuperPages was listed in the "General Business and News, Management,

and Business Tools" category in a story entitled "Surf City" in the January 1997

issue. The top one hundred business sites were chosen from literally thousands

of different business-related sites on the Web.
