NEW BELL ATLANTIC SERVICE LINKS NORTHERN NEW JERSEY, BIG
APPLE
Northern Corridor Option provides frame relay savings
Arlington, VA - A new low-priced bridge over the
Hudson? That's what
Bell Atlantic will offer its customers next month when it rolls out a
high-speed, data service that connects local area networks in New
Jersey with networks in New York.
Bell Atlantic's Frame Relay Northern Corridor Option, provides a
low-cost seamless connection for data customers between northern New
Jersey in Bell Atlantic's service area and New York City in the NYNEX
service area. Bell Atlantic's frame relay option consists of a
permanent virtual circuit with a committed information rate.
Frame relay service allows customers to share data without subscribing
to private lines. The service is particularly useful to financial
institutions, health care providers, brokerage firms, and other
businesses that track inventory or share data.
"Interconnecting with NYNEX for frame relay in the northern corridor
makes economic sense," said Evelyn Gaines, product manager for frame
relay service in Bell Atlantic Carrier Services. "This is a great
opportunity for those customers who are looking for a less expensive
alternative to existing frame relay services."
Bell Atlantic Corporation (NYSE: BEL) is at the forefront of the new
communications, entertainment and information industry. In the
mid-Atlantic region, the company is the premier provider of local
telecommunications and advanced services. Globally, it is one of the
largest investors in the high-growth wireless communication
marketplace. Bell Atlantic also owns a substantial interest in
Telecom Corporation of New Zealand and is actively developing
high-growth national and international business opportunities in all
phases of the industry.
