NYNEX Invests In INFOSEEK

Matthew J. Stover Joins Infoseek Board of Directors

SANTA CLARA, CA -- Infoseek Corporation, the Internet navigation service,
today announced that NYNEX Information
Technologies, a subsidiary of NYNEX Information Resources Company,
has made a several-million dollar investment in Infoseek for a 5%
preferred equity interest in the company. The investment will aid
Infoseek in the development of the next generation of its search
engine technology and navigation service.

Additionally, Matthew J. Stover, president and CEO of NYNEX
Information Resources Company, has been elected to Infoseek's board
of directors.

NYNEX recently announced
(sm), an online shopping directory
of almost every business in the U.S., for which it selected Infoseek
Guide as its search and navigation service of choice. BigYellow and
Infoseek Guide will share a high degree of inter-operability, so that
users can easily move from search to browse to shop functions.

commitment to building a customer-focused business complements
BigYellow's vision to be the best service to enable people to shop and
complete transactions on the Internet," said Stover.

of the National Association of Manufacturers, the Computer and
Communications Industry Association and the Yellow Pages Publishers
Association.
