NEW YORK CITY -- For the fourth year in a row, NYNEX will be the major sponsor of the New York State Federation of Hispanic Chambers of Commerce annual convention.
Held today and tomorrow (6/21-22) at the New York Hilton, the convention brings together 30 of the most influential Hispanic business organizations in New York, representing some 10,000 members at large.
In conference speeches and seminars and at a booth in the exhibit area, NYNEX representatives will stress with business leaders and owners the ever-growing importance of advanced telecommunications products and services. With expanded network capabilities made possible by NYNEX, electronic funds transfers, new data and video technologies and local advanced call management, businesses can easily manage operations internationally and locally.
"To be successful in international markets, small- and medium-sized companies should have the capabilities of their larger counterparts," said Ward MacKenzie, NYNEX vice president for Business Network Solutions. "Telecommunications is being used the world over to overcome old business barriers. NYNEX plays a large role in counseling these smaller companies about communications technologies and network solutions. This allows companies to concentrate on making their own business more efficient and profitable."
With more than 50,000 Hispanic businesses in New York City alone, NYNEX last year established La Conexin de NYNEX, a business center designed with the Spanish-speaking business owner in mind.
Recently expanded, La Conexion de NYNEX (1-800-347-8424) is staffed by a team of bilingual representatives who can recommend and describe the advantages of a NYNEX communications solution, answer questions about existing telecommunications services, and discuss how special opportunities can help businesses operate more efficiently.
"Telecommunications technology has become a key competitive element for small- and medium-sized businesses. The La Conexion de NYNEX team is dedicated to simplifying for Hispanic business owners the benefits our products and services can have on their operations," said MacKenzie.
NYNEX is a global communications and media company that provides a full range of services in the northeastern United States and high-growth markets around the world, including the United Kingdom, Thailand, Gibraltar, Greece, Indonesia, the Philippines, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
The Corporation is a leader in the telecommunications, wireless communications, cable television, directory publishing and entertainment and information services.
