PCS PRIMECO SIGNS ON ADVERTISING AGENCY
Wireless Entrant Preparing For Customers Of New PCS
Services
DALLAS -- PCS PrimeCo, L.P., preparing to offer a new
generation of
wireless communications services to consumers and businesses in major
markets across the U.S. by year end, today announced that the company
has lined up an advertising agency - Angotti, Thomas, Hedge, Inc., New
York -- to help market the company's products and services. The
advertising agency will be responsible for creating and positioning
brand, promotional and product launch advertising, as well as media
planning and placement. The selection of Angotti, Thomas, Hedge is
subject to the finalizing of a contract.
"PCS PrimeCo intends to have a leading position in the wireless
communications market by bringing new Personal Communications Services
to the public and Angotti, Thomas, Hedge demonstrated to us that they
are the right creative partner to bring our messages to customers,"
said Karen Little, vice president of marketing for PCS PrimeCo. "We
picked the agency because they truly understand both the challenges and
opportunities that PCS PrimeCo faces in the highly competitive wireless
marketplace, and they have ideas that we believe will differentiate PCS
PrimeCo."
"We are excited to be part of PCS PrimeCo's marketing team and
service
roll-out," said Barrie Hedge, President of Angotti, Thomas, Hedge,
Inc. "We realize that PCS PrimeCo sees the decision as a critical
component to the success of the company's entrance into the wireless
marketplace, and we are gearing up to help the company achieve its
goals."
PCS PrimeCo plans to sign up customers for its Personal Communications
Services (PCS) in the latter part of this year -- in time for the
holiday shopping session. The company will be bringing to the
consumer and business marketplaces a new generation of wireless
products and services that are easy to use, buy and afford.
Initially, customers can expect to see voice services, and soon after,
wireless data services, such as store-and-forward messaging (voice,
fax, e-mail), and eventually, Internet connection and other advanced
wireless services.
PCS PrimeCo, the four-way wireless partnership of AirTouch
Communications [NYSE:ATI], Bell Atlantic [NYSE:BEL], NYNEX [NYSE:NYN],
and US WEST [NYSE:USW], won 11 licenses to provide PCS services
covering 57 million people in 19 states.
