NEW YORK and SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Verizon Online customers can now enjoy anytime, anywhere computing -- for half the standard subscription price, or just $9.89 a month -- thanks to an exclusive agreement reached by Verizon Online and Citrix(R) Online, the creator of GoToMyPC(R) software.

Verizon Online customers who subscribe to GoToMyPC can access their office computers from any Internet-connected computer and work as if they were in the office, with easy and secure access to all their files and network connections.

"GoToMyPC is a powerful software tool that gives customers more flexibility in balancing their work and family life," said Chris Pizzirani, Verizon's executive director of mass market data. "It makes working from home or on the road a breeze by letting customers connect with their office PC as if they were sitting right in front of it - even if they're thousands of miles away. GoToMyPC is similar to having your own VPN (virtual private network), without the hassles."

GoToMyPC subscribers have access to the full contents of their desktops quickly and securely without the need for training or technical support. Built-in security features provide the enhanced security, including end-to-end AES (advanced encryption standard) encryption, dual password requirements, user authentication and screen blanking of the host computer.

As long as GoToMyPC customers leave their work computer on, they can access their work files from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection.

The award-winning Web-based service is consistently ranked best-of-breed in its category by leading technology influencers for its speed, ease of use and security. Kim Komando, noted Internet expert, syndicated columnist and top-10-rated radio talk-show host says, "GoToMyPC is the easiest and most secure way to access my work computer from anywhere." Last month, PC World magazine awarded GoToMyPC its 2004 World Class Award for Best Remote Access Software.

"The timing is ideal for our market-leading solutions to join forces," said John Greathouse, senior vice president of strategic development at Citrix Online. "The teleworking trend is escalating and to be competitive, workers need instant, anytime, any place connectivity. Combining Verizon Online's reach with the convenience of GoToMyPC, we can help make teleworkers, mobile professionals and small-business owners more productive."

The number of Americans who work from home at least one day a month has jumped 40 percent since 2001 to 23.4 million last year, according to a survey conducted by the Dieringer Research Group (

Verizon Online customers will be able to purchase and download the software from for just $9.89 a-month per computer for remote-desktop PC access on demand. The retail monthly rate is normally $19.95 a month.
