Ingalls now leads all Verizon consumer and small-business sales and marketing activities, including the highly competitive broadband products, and the company's public communications and operator services businesses. He also directs the company's brand advertising and marketing communications.

Ingalls has most recently been senior vice president and chief operations officer for the Retail Markets Group and previously was president of Verizon's Business Solutions Group, guiding sales and services for small and medium-sized businesses. Prior to the completion of the Bell Atlantic/GTE merger, he was vice president of consumer marketing for Bell Atlantic.
A resident and native of Virginia, Ingalls holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va., and a master's in business administration from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. He has attended executive development programs at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Darden School at the University of Virginia. He is a trustee of New York City Outward Bound and is chairman of the Center for Telecom Management at the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California.
