Verizon is giving its broadband customers in the Northeast a reason to play games with their broadband service this summer - at home or on the road.
New and existing Verizon broadband customers in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York can sign up now for unlimited access to more than 1,400 computer games at a monthly cost well below the purchase price of a single new retail game.
For $9.99 a month, customers can play games over their Verizon FiOS Internet or High Speed Internet (HSI) connection or download to their laptop and take them on vacation, for business travel, to the park or as a lunchtime diversion at work, anywhere they have an internet connection. The price is fixed for as long as a customer decides to keep the service, and Verizon will throw in the first two weeks of service at no charge for new subscribers.
"With unlimited games, our FiOS and HSI broadband customers can do away with those annoying game-rental late fees and the hassles of storing and cataloging game discs," said Susan Retta, vice president for Verizon broadband marketing. "And when customers are away from home, they can access their account from any broadband connection to play online games or download new games to play later."
Among the hundreds of arcade, action, puzzle, sports, and word games are:
- For families - "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader," "Jewel Quest®," "The Price Is Right,TM" "Boggle®" and "RiskTM."
- For kids - "Bob The BuilderTM," "Clifford The Big Red Dog®," "SpongeBobTM Teaches Typing," "American Girl" and "Zoo Tycoon."
- For Casual Gamers - "Bejeweled Twist,TM" "Diner Dash®," "Agatha ChristieTM," "Virtual Villagers®," "Splinter CellTM" and "Prince of PersiaTM."
The games offer is available throughout the summer and the titles can be downloaded to PCs and laptops. To order Verizon broadband and the unlimited gaming service call 1-800-VERIZON.
