DENVER -- As part of its nationwide expansion Verizon SuperPages, the nation's largest publisher of both English- and Spanish-language telephone directories, is now delivering its first SuperPages directories in Denver. Verizon is currently distributing nearly 1.1 million SuperPages to greater Denver residents and businesses including 185,000 bilingual directories to the most-heavily Hispanic populated areas.

"Verizon recognized a need for a more comprehensive directory in Denver because of the area's cultural diversity and residents' use of SuperPages.com," said Sal Salgado, local Verizon SuperPages general sales manager. "Denver was the 19th most searched city on SuperPages.com in 2002, and the area's residents, businesses and visitors now benefit from all of Verizon SuperPages' many community resources -- printed and online, English and Spanish."

According to national research firm Claritas, Denver has a 19.5 percent Hispanic population. The neighborhoods within Denver, where the flipped, bilingual SuperPages are being delivered, have a 50 percent Hispanic population. Verizon is the first publisher to offer a bilingual directory in Denver.

Denver is the second market in Colorado to receive Verizon SuperPages directories. Colorado Springs directories distributed in October 2002, and the Boulder SuperPages are scheduled to begin delivering in December.

Local Content and Features

The Greater Denver SuperPages have a localized cover featuring the players of the Denver Broncos football team, the Denver Capitol and local scenery. Included are a Community Magazine and a Dining Your Way! restaurant guide which spotlights 42 restaurants with an A-Z index, menus and maps. The bilingual, flipped SuperPages feature a Spanish cover and content on one side, and an English cover and content on the other.

Denver shoppers and businesses also have access to Verizon's leading online directory and shopping resource, SuperPages.com, as well as the most comprehensive national Spanish-language online directory -- SuperPages.com en Español. Both sites have local content. Just as you can find a local dentist in the Greater Denver SuperPages, you can search for Dentists or Dentistas in Denver on SuperPages.com or SuperPages.com en Español.

If you do not receive a copy of your Denver SuperPages by the end of September, please call 1-800-888-8448.
