NEWARK, N.J. - Verizon today announced plans to hire more than 250 sales and service consultants for its new customer-service center in Robbinsville.
Currently about 350 employees work at the center, which opened in November 2002. When the latest expansion is complete, more than 600 employees will staff the state-of-the-art facility, which sells and supports Verizon's expanding line of products and services.
"Verizon is committed to providing the best customer service in the industry," said Dennis Bone, president of Verizon New Jersey. "The increase to our work force reflects our commitment to both New Jersey and to our customers."
The center uses the latest in desktop technology and communications and provides employees with advanced training and support facilities.
"We're seeking to hire individuals who are customer-focused with experience in meeting and exceeding sales objectives," said Bone. "This is a challenging and exciting opportunity in a fast-paced, demanding environment."
Verizon is advertising for potential job candidates in newspapers and online employment Web sites.
