Verizon to Hire 60 Additional Sales and Customer Service Representatives in New Jersey

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Verizon is planning to hire 60 additional fulltime customer service consultants at the company's state-of-the-art service center here to handle a wide range of sales and customer support functions.

"Verizon is delivering cutting-edge products and services to consumers and businesses, and we're looking for great people to help us grow and succeed," said Michelle Swittenberg, Verizon's vice president of sales, mid-Atlantic region.  "With surging demand for Verizon FiOS and our other leading products and services, these new team members will help us take our great customer service and sales support to an entirely new level.

"In addition, this is a great opportunity to work for a dynamic and evolving company that's been repeatedly lauded by DiversityInc and Working Mother magazines as a great place to work," Swittenberg said.

The consumer consultants will work in a call center handling requests from new and existing customers.  This position involves sitting at a computer workstation and using a telephone headset while working continually with customers who are ordering or changing their services, or who have inquiries about them.  Excellent customer-contact skills are essential.

Applicants must also be familiar with computers and be willing to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required.  Starting wages range from $501.50 to $1108 per week, plus benefits and paid training.
