Verizon Holds Groundbreaking for State-of-the-art Customer Service Megacenter in New Jersey

NEWARK, N.J - Verizon today broke ground for a state-of-the-art customer service megacenter in Hamilton, N.J. The facility, which will open in November, will have more than 700 employees when fully staffed.

"This new megacenter reflects Verizon's commitment to both New Jersey and to our customers," said Dennis Bone, president of Verizon New Jersey. "This facility will provide our employees with the latest technology to better serve our residential customers in the Garden State."

The megacenter, located at Horizon Center Business Park, will consolidate consumer sales and service operations now located in Freehold, Mount Laurel, New Brunswick and Toms River. Those four locations house other Verizon business units and will remain open.

The new facility will include modern desktop technology and advanced training, communications and employee support facilities, including a community center and an auditorium. Verizon has signed a 10-year lease with three five-year renewal options.

Last year, Verizon invested $1.07 billion in its telecommunications network and support systems serving New Jersey. Since 1997 Verizon has invested $5.1 billion in the Garden State. There are more than 18,700 Verizon employees in New Jersey.
