WASHINGTON - With the sale of its current office space at 1710 H St., N.W., Verizon Washington, D.C. is moving its headquarters to a company-owned building just a few blocks away.

The company's headquarters now will be located at 2055 L St., N.W. In addition to the company's executive offices, this building also houses repair, dispatch, operator services, federal systems and central office operations.

In keeping with its longstanding commitment to the community, Verizon has donated dozens of boxes of binders, office supplies, kitchen appliances, cutlery and china to D.C. public schools, the Clara Muhammad School and social service organizations such as Covenant House and Third and Eats.

"As one of the largest private employers in the District, Verizon cares about the city and the customers we serve," said Marie C. Johns, president of Verizon Washington, D.C. "It's important to give back to the community, and we hope these organizations will put the items to good use."
