Verizon New England Executive to Lead Company's Network Services Group for Entire Northeast

BOSTON - Verizon Communications has promoted Robert Mudge to senior vice president - Northeast for Verizon's Network Services Group. The change becomes effective April 1.
In his new role, Mudge is responsible for service delivery for 18 million consumer and business customers in Verizon's six Northeast states - Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont -- and for the operations of the local and long- distance networks in those areas. He is also responsible for building and maintaining Verizon's advanced networks in the Northeast. Prior to his promotion, Mudge was the regional president for New England.

"We are very pleased to have Bob as a key member of our national leadership team."
Mudge began his career with New England Telephone in 1983 and has held a number of key positions in operations, construction and engineering, and public affairs.
He currently serves on the boards of directors of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, Boston Stock Exchange and The Wang Center for Performing Arts.
He is a graduate of North Adams State College and received a Master of Business Administration from Suffolk University.
A native of Boston, Mudge and his wife, Phylisan, live in Norwell, Mass. They have three children.
