NEW YORK - Mom is checking stock reports in the family room, the kids are listening to music in their bedrooms, and dad is making airline reservations on his laptop outside on the patio. They're doing all this using the same high-speed DSL connection, and it doesn't cost them a penny more a month.
Starting today, Verizon Online is offering new DSL customers a full rebate on the $99.95 price of a new wireless router. The three-month promotion, which lasts until July 17, is aimed at families with multiple home-computers and those who want the mobility of a wireless broadband connection. Unlike some of its competitors, Verizon Online doesn't charge customers extra every month for connecting more than one computer to a single DSL connection in their homes.
"The majority of households today have more than one computer, and family members want to share the benefits of their broadband connection," said John Wimsatt, vice president of broadband marketing for Verizon Online. "With our new router promotion and ongoing commitment to helping customers get the most from their DSL, we're making it easy and affordable for customers to benefit from a home network."
Verizon Online DSL with MSN Premium
Verizon Online DSL comes with MSN Premium Internet software and its rich content that now includes the ability to view more than 250 baseball games a month online, just in time for the start of the season. Other tools include research and homework help from MSN Encarta Premium; family budgeting software MSN Money; a firewall; virus protection; and a pop-up ad guard that Verizon Online customers can turn on with the click of their mouse.
Verizon Online Router Rebate
Verizon Online is offering to new DSL customers through July 17 a $99.95 rebate on the new wireless router that sells for $99.95. In order to be eligible for the rebate, new customers must keep their DSL service for a minimum of 30 days. The router must be ordered at the same time as the DSL service and be paid for with a credit card. Customers' computers must be equipped with a wireless card.
Qualifying new customers will receive an eligibility letter approximately 45 days after their DSL service activation. This letter will include information on how to redeem the router rebate. New customers have until Oct. 31 to act.
