NEW YORK - Verizon Online now guarantees the quickest DSL service activation delivery nationally for business customers who self-install their DSL modem.
"We know business customers want and need DSL service when it's promised," said Tim Eggleston, director of product management, Verizon Online. "So we're telling customers that Verizon DSL will be installed on time and we'll put our money where our promise is."
Verizon Online is guaranteeing that it will activate a business customer's DSL service and send out the do-it-yourself DSL kit within 30 calendar days of receiving the customer's order. If Verizon Online misses the 30-day delivery commitment, customers receive half off their first full monthly Verizon Online DSL bill. The service-delivery guarantee applies to all "self-install" orders placed by business customers after Dec. 30, 2001. Most customers use the self-install kits.
In addition to the service activation guarantee, Verizon Online offers a 30-day, money-back guarantee.
"We're confident that customers will get hooked on the service. Customers won't go back to dial-up service once they conduct their business with super-fast DSL. Why spend precious time sending or downloading attachments," said Eggleston.
Verizon Online DSL offers a number of business plans with increasing speeds. Recurring monthly charges depend on the DSL speed and offer selected. The majority of business packages include 6 e-mail boxes, 20 Mb (megabytes) of Web space and 20 hours of dial-up Internet access in the monthly price. Specific offers may differ by state.
Verizon Online also offers routers for business customers, enabling one DSL connection to be shared by multiple PCs. According to Eggleston, adding a router optimizes DSL by turning connected computers into a network.
