NEW YORK -- During Black History Month, visitors to Verizon's K-12 Education Web site will be able to view a two-minute mini-documentary on
the life of Martin Luther King Jr.
"Verizon is working to provide quality education for America's students," said Gregory Scott, Verizon's executive director of education, healthcare
and government practices. "We're proud to support students, teachers and parents with access to E-tools that can enhance students' learning
experiences."
Some 95 percent of schools across the country are wired and have Internet access. "Teachers are seeking visual media to enhance their lesson plans and
integrate technology into their curriculum. The Martin Luther King Jr. video enables them to demonstrate to their students the powerful impact and eloquence of
this great civil rights leader," Scott said.
The video was provided by Videoschoolhouse, which has created an interactive Web-based network of over 200 full narrated, two-minute miniMovies*
designed for the educational community.
"Verizon recognizes the valuable contribution video can make in the learning environment," said Vinnie Kralyevich, president and creative director of
Videoschoolhouse.
