Wells Fargo Alarm to Provide Advanced Services to Clients Using Bell Atlantic ISDN Links

Video Monitoring, Other Data Services to be Offered

NEW YORK -- Customers of Wells Fargo Alarm Services will enjoy
high-security communications and access to video recognition systems
as the result of an agreement announced today by Bell Atlantic.

Over the next 10 years, Bell Atlantic will install 20,000 Integrated
Services Digital Network (ISDN) circuits to replace traditional
communications used in the alarm business.

"Wells Fargo Alarm worked with Bell Atlantic's sales team to develop
an innovation that will reposition the alarm company with its
customers," said Doug Mello, president - Large Business Services -
North for Bell Atlantic. "This high quality digital service will
replace 60-year-old communications technology and gives Wells Fargo
Alarm a tool to far outpace its competitors who have chosen wireless
or other technologies to replace their outmoded analog circuits."

ISDN will allow alarm service customers to add SecurVision®, a
breakthrough video recognition system recently introduced by Wells
Fargo Alarm. SecurVision is a fully-integrated video recognition
system that uses military technology to distinguish between human
intruders and non-threatening events, such as high winds or animals,
that can set off alarm systems. SecurVision transmits video only when
it recognizes a true alarm.

A proprietary Wells Fargo Alarm interface device will enable its
customers to add services ranging from Internet access, voice and fax
messaging and other data services.

ISDN is a transmission technology that provides customers with two 64
kilobit circuits and a telemetry channel carried over regular phone
wires. With this much capacity serving each security customer
location, Wells Fargo Alarm will be able to offer alarm circuit
polling over the lower capacity telemetry channel and the two higher
capacity data channels can be creatively put to work in other ways for
customers.
