Winners of Verizon's Lunar New Year Sweepstakes Will Get a Trip to Hawaii

NEW YORK - In celebration of the Lunar New Year, Verizon is sponsoring a sweepstakes with a grand prize of a trip to Hawaii for a family of four.
Contestants are asked to write a short story or anecdote, between 25-1,000 words, describing how a loved one, relative, ancestor or someone special has made an impact on their life.
"We understand and value the importance of family ties in the Asian culture and heritage. We want to provide our customers an opportunity to express their love and respect for that special someone, and also have a chance to win a trip of a lifetime for their family," said Deborah Lau Okamura, group manager-Asian Markets for Verizon.
Participants can write the story themselves or submit their entry by answering five questions. More information about the "Tell Their Story" sweepstakes and entry forms are available on Verizon's Web site at www.verizon.com/lunarnewyear. Deadline for entries is March 31.
The grand prize is an expense-paid trip for four to the Louis Vuitton Hawaii Presents The Hawaii International Film Festival in Honolulu. The festival runs from Oct. 30 to Nov. 9. Round-trip air transportation, five nights' hotel accommodations, VIP passes to all film festival screenings and festival activities will be included. A rental car is also available. Value of the grand prize is approximately $15,000. Co-sponsors of the prizes include Aloha Airlines, Sheraton Waikiki and Budget Rent-A-Car.
Ten runners-up will each receive a digital Samsung camcorder, a $1,000 value.
Prizewinners will be selected in a random drawing to be conducted in May. The sweepstakes is open to residents of the United States who are at least 18 years of age. No purchase is necessary.
