WINSTAR COMMUNICATIONS, INC. (NASDAQ-WCII) and NYNEX (NYSE-NYN) today
announced that they have signed an interconnect agreement in New York, which
allows WinStar to provide local telecommunications services to business and
residential customers in competition with NYNEX. WinStar is already offering
competitive local telecommunications services in New York City, as a
reseller, and is scheduled to install its first switch in October, in
Manhattan.
