Get Revved Up For Verizon’s EV Fleet
Last week, Verizon took a major step forward in its environmental efforts by launching its first electric fleet in Smithfield, Rhode Island. With a $4.4 million investment, this initiative paves the way for a greener future. The new fleet, featuring EVs and charging stations, supports Fios technicians across northern Providence. This move is part of Verizon’s goal to reduce operational emissions by 53% by 2030 and reach net-zero emissions by 2035.
Here’s what you need to know:
- This is the first electric fleet in Verizon’s national garage network.
- The fleet includes 40 Ford eTransit vans and 5 Ford Lightning trucks.
- It's equipped with 25 two-port Level 2 charging stations and multiple DC Fast Charging Stations.

In Tuesday’s episode, Jen reminded everyone about the VALOR event for Memorial Day.
If you missed it, here’s what happened: Verizon Business CEO Kyle Malady, along with veterans Lauren Schulz, Steven Keller and David Pope, had a great chat in our San Diego office. Meanwhile, employees laced up their sneakers across the country for Carry Forward walks hosted by VALOR to honor our service members and veterans worldwide. Nearly 2,000 employees walked, and over 500 volunteer hours were logged that day. Pretty impressive, and the month isn’t even over yet.
