With a client base that includes about half of the physicians and hospitals in the United States, the company’s national sales team, of more than 1,000 professionals, must be able to respond quickly to customer concerns.

Getting the right technology into the hands of the sales force is critical to the company’s success. The sales professionals require a portable, easy to use technology that allows them to access and show information, including marketing materials and reports, to customers during on-site meetings. They also require an intuitive user experience to help new sales professionals quickly adapt to the technology.

After evaluating its options, Quest Diagnostics concluded in December 2012 that the iPad 4 was the right solution for its national sales team. But Quest needed to purchase and implement the new technology in time for its annual National Sales meeting, to be held in February 2013. Verizon Enterprise Solutions worked with Quest Diagnostics to roll out the product quickly in order to meet the tight turnaround time.

The roll-out of an iPad to each sales professional was a well-received surprise and considered one of the highlights of the national sales event. Since then, the use of the iPad by the sales team has begun to help Quest Diagnostics achieve important objectives, including improved quality of sales presentations and reduced time and money on printing costs.
