BELLEVUE, WA — As firefighters work around the clock to battle the wildfires in North Central Washington, communication is critical in coordinating emergency and relief efforts. To help meet the communications needs of firefighters and emergency relief organizations, Verizon Wireless has donated 12 wireless phones and accompanying service to the U.S. Forest Service in the Wenatchee area. In addition, Verizon Wireless crews are building additional capacity in the Wenatchee area network to handle the increased call volumes and support emergency communications.
