Verizon Wireless Names Greg Klimek Southern California Region President

IRVINE, CA — Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless provider, has appointed Greg Klimek to serve as president of the company's Southern California Region. In his new position, Klimek will direct and manage the region's operations including sales in 69 retail locations and customer service operations for customers throughout Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Ventura Counties.

Prior to joining the company's Southern California region, Klimek served as president-Illinois/Wisconsin region for Verizon Wireless, and was responsible for the company's operations in the Chicago, Central and Northern Illinois, Milwaukee and Wisconsin markets.

Klimek joined the former Bell Atlantic Mobile in 1984 as a member of the finance/treasury group. He later held a series of strategic operations positions, including general manager-regional operations for Philadelphia/Pittsburgh; director-customer operations and support for Bell Atlantic Mobile; and president of Southwestco Wireless, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bell Atlantic Mobile, where he led the Arizona, New Mexico and West Texas operations. Klimek holds a master's of business administration from Seton Hall University and a bachelor's degree from Rowan University.
