Verizon Wireless Adds New Cell Site and More Digital Service in Virginia Beach
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — Verizon Wireless today announced it has placed a new digital cell site in the Timberlake area. The added capacity will improve wireless service along Holland Road from south of I-264 to Shipps Corner, an area that is growing in wireless phone usage.
The net result is that users will experience fewer blocked or dropped calls as well as fewer busy signals during peak calling times.
The project is part of the company's $200 million initiative to build out its network in the Washington-Baltimore-Virginia region. In 2001, Verizon Wireless is investing more than $4 billion in its nationwide wireless network.
