BISMARCK, ND — Verizon Wireless today announced the addition of a new cell site north of Bismarck that will provide new coverage along Highway 83 and additional call capacity in the Bismarck area. The new site will help Verizon Wireless stay ahead of its customer growth and network usage. For example, from January to December of 2003, call volume during busy hour increased 75 per cent in the Bismarck area by Verizon Wireless customers.
"The Bismarck site is part of our commitment to improve coverage and capacity by building 17 new cell sites across North Dakota this year," said Viki L. Radden, president Great Plains Region, Verizon Wireless. "Each year we invest in network improvements to provide a reliable customer experience. In 2003, for instance, we invested $21 million in our North Dakota network and this year we will also make a significant investment."
Verizon Wireless service is available at the Verizon Wireless Communications Store located at 311 South Third St. in Bismarck and at authorized Verizon Wireless agent locations.
