Verizon Wireless and Atlas Mobile Deal Hold'em Poker For Prizes to Verizon Wireless Customers

SAN DIEGO, BEDMINSTER, NJ and SAN MATEO, CA — Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless service provider, and Atlas Mobile, the worldwide leader in mobile, skills-based multiplayer tournament games in which players compete against each other for fun and prizes, today announced the availability of Hold'em Poker+ for PrizesTM to Verizon Wireless' Get It Now customers. Beginning today, poker enthusiasts can compete in skills-based multiplayer tournaments against other players right from their Verizon Wireless Get It Now-enabled mobile phones. Some tournaments give customers a chance to compete to win prizes.

Hold'em Poker+ for Prizes is a unique and strategic twist on classic hold'em poker, in which players pick their cards to build their best hands and block the virtual opponents. Points are scored by creating hands and winning the pot as quickly as possible in multiplayer tournaments. If a player picks a card that was also selected by another player in a current or previous round, the players are both blocked and dealt cards that have no value. The game ends when all hands are completed or time runs out.

"Expectations for this title are high," says Isaac Babbs, President and CEO of Atlas Mobile. "Poker is in the midst of a resurgence in popularity, and we are proud to present the market with the Hold'em Poker+ mobile poker game where players can compete in continuous tournaments for fun and prizes."

Hold'em Poker+ for Prizes is an additional tournament offering from Atlas Mobile that is available to Verizon Wireless customers. Earlier this year, Verizon Wireless and Atlas Mobile announced the availability of Tetris Tournament for Prizes™. Since that time, over four million multiplayer tournament games have been played on the Verizon Wireless network.

Hold'em Poker+ for Prizes is available in the getGAMES shopping aisle. Subscription charges for Hold'em Poker+ for Prizes are $2.99 per month on select Get It Now-enabled phones, including AudioVox CDM-8600, CDM-8900, CDM-9500; LG VX4400, VX4500, LG VX6000; Motorola T720 and T730; Samsung SCH-A530 and A610; and Kyocera SE-47.
