MarketWatch From Dow Jones Short Video Content Now Available On Verizon Wireless V CAST Phones

NEW YORK and BEDMINSTER, NJ — MarketWatch from Dow Jones & Company (NYSE: DJ) and Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless provider, today announced the launch of MarketWatch's mobile on demand short content programming for Verizon Wireless' V CAST multimedia service.

V CAST from Verizon Wireless is the first true 3G wireless broadband consumer multimedia service in the country, allowing customers to view crystal clear short content because it runs on Verizon Wireless' Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) network — the only widely available wide-area wireless broadband network in the U. S. The V CAST coverage area, which mirrors the Verizon Wireless' EV-DO network, is available in more than 30 major metropolitan markets and covers more than 75 million people.

MarketWatch's wireless short content programming helps Verizon Wireless customers with V CAST phones keep abreast of the latest business and financial news with video segments updated throughout the day, offering approximately 35 new video clips each week that range in length from one to three minutes. Short content includes MarketWatch market updates, features and interviews, designed with the needs of the on-the-go customer in mind. The MarketWatch short content video programming is optimized to fit the format of wireless phone screens.

"We understand the importance of timeliness when it comes to supplying financial news and content to our audience," said Jeffrey Davis, senior vice president and general manager, MarketWatch Information Services. "The new V CAST multimedia service enables us to provide full-motion video and audio clips of what MarketWatch viewers have access to through our television programs, direct to their Verizon Wireless phones."

"MarketWatch is a valuable content provider, and we're delighted to provide their video news clips to our customers," said Jim Straight, vice president of wireless Internet and multimedia services for Verizon Wireless. "With MarketWatch short content available for the launch of Verizon Wireless' V CAST, we can deliver premium financial news and content to customers right out of the gate."

Pricing and AvailabilityFor $15.00 monthly access added to their Verizon Wireless calling plan, customers get the V CAST VPak that includes unlimited access to a wide array of more than 300 daily updated video clips from leading content providers. Unlimited basic video clips are included, but application download fees will still apply for 3D games, premium video clips and all other Get It Now® applications. There are no airtime charges to download or stream and watch MarketWatch video clips and other V CAST content. Customers need a V CAST phone to access MarketWatch and other V CAST short content.

For a limited time, customers who sign up for V CAST will receive two months of service free. Verizon Wireless V CAST customers also receive monthly access and unlimited browsing on Verizon Wireless' Mobile Web 2.0SM news and information service. In addition, customers can choose from premium video clips, available at additional cost that include music videos and more. V CAST provides MarketWatch video clips using Windows Media, providing a high quality wireless multimedia entertainment experience.
