From June 20th through the 22nd, Verizon attended the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) National Conference & Business Fair in Las Vegas, Nevada. WBENC celebrated its 20th anniversary with over 4,000 attendees. The conference provided corporate members the opportunity to connect with women business enterprises through WBENC sponsored events and independent meetings. Verizon attended the WBENC conference as a Gold Sponsor, and focused on connecting the right women-owned businesses, that can help us build long term value for our customers, with key members of our organization. Check out some of the highlights from this year’s national conference:
- Verizon kicked off the WBENC conference by attending the WeConnect International meeting. Verizon is a corporate member of WeConnect International, an organization helping promote women owned businesses that have headquarters in international locations. We firmly believe that our global supply chain can benefit from diverse suppliers that provide services all over the world.
- Verizon also held a Premier Supplier Academy session, an event in which diverse suppliers are given the opportunity to pitch their company capabilities, and receive feedback from Verizon and other large businesses. The Premiere Supplier Academy is a program that supports growing both tier one and tier two diversity relationships.
- Verizon attended the business fair to connect with corporate partners and women-owned businesses during matchmaking sessions. These connections afforded us opportunities to meet new talent and provide information on Verizon’s needs and expectations.
Congratulations to WBENC for a successful conference. Verizon looks forward to attending next year’s event in Detroit. As an advocate for women-owned businesses, we are a proud corporate member of WBENC.
