PHOENIX, AZ — Every call is vital-whether it is one call from a woman seeking shelter from an abusive relationship, hundreds of calls from emergency responders during a community disaster, or thousands of calls from sports fans after a large event.
Two ways Verizon Wireless makes a special effort to keep local residents connected will be showcased at the US Airways Center on March 26.
What:
Community preparedness: Verizon Wireless' "Sundancer" the COLT (Cell on Light Truck) mobile cell site will make its first public appearance. Sundancer the COLT is a self-contained mobile cell site bred specifically for rapid, and short-term network response. The COLT rides out to enhance wireless coverage so that emergency response teams and other Verizon Wireless customers can make more calls.
Verizon Wireless' HopeLine® program: Drop boxes for used wireless phones and accessories will be located by the COLT on the plaza and at other entrances from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Equipment donated by Suns fans will benefit survivors of domestic violence through the Verizon Wireless HopeLine program.
