Verizon Wireless Activates New Cell Site In Freeman, South Dakota

FREEMAN, SD — Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Freeman that expands network coverage and increases capacity, enabling more customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls; send and receive email and text, picture and video messages; and download games and ringtones while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.

The new cell site improves coverage in town and north along U.S. Highway 81 seven miles, south on U.S. Highway 81 to 280th Street, east on State Highway 44 to 446th Street and west on 278th Street to 427th Ave.

In 2007, $28.6 million of this investment was spent in South Dakota for network enhancements.
