‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ premiere features Verizon 5G.

The highly anticipated conclusion to the Skywalker saga, ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,’ hits movie theatres today, and the world premiere in Los Angeles featured Verizon 5G in a big way. Our 5G technology was used on Disney’s production cameras and the footage of the red-carpet event was shared via Verizon 5G to a livestream audience on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Also, RYOT Studio created virtual Sith Jet troopers with 5G technology for the event and projected them on a wall at the after-party. Each Sith trooper was live-controlled by an actor wearing a motion capture suit at Verizon Media’s 5G studio, miles away from the event.
